CIEE Advanced Liberal Arts Program in Barcelona, Spain

There's no better place to immerse yourself as an advanced-level Spanish student than in culturally rich Barcelona. In this college town with a reputation for being both edgy and modern while maintaining tradition, you'll examine Spanish culture, history, arts, and more. You'll study alongside Spanish classmates, live with a local family, and explore the beautiful Spanish country – all with a focus on furthering your language skills and becoming part of the community.

  • Immerse yourself in Spanish academic culture by enrolling in regular university classes in a wide range of disciplines ranging from Spanish language and literature to geography, international relations, and political science
  • Participate in cultural and educational activities, including lectures and visits to museums, and explore Barcelona, Catalonia, and Spain through excursions
  • Get to know your Spanish peers during trips throughout the city with CIEE Guardian Angels, who help you feel at home; during sessions with academic tutors; and by taking non-credit classes in Spanish cooking
