Program Description:
Program Overview

This summer, make Paris your own, and bathe in the culture of one of Europe’s most enchanting cities.

Our Summer Open Campus program at the CIEE Global Institute- Paris is designed to improve your knowledge not just of France and French language and culture, but also a wide range of subjects that address Europe and the world as a whole.

Study abroad in Paris this summer and take small, stimulating classes with personalized instruction that will give you a learning experience to match your interests and academic goals.

The CIEE Difference

Make your summer travel a learning experience. One day trip and a two-day overnight are included in each four-week Paris Open Campus Summer session. Past destinations have included Toulouse, Tours, Dijon, Nimes, and Marseille. Past destinations for day trips have included Vaux-le-Vicomte and Chartres. One guided walk of Paris is included in each session orientation.

Paris is our classroom. Although often considered as a living museum, the city of Paris will become a space for learning and relating. With at least two integrated co-curricular outings per class to the Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay, the avenues and parks and galleries of Paris become destinations for learning. Classes are demanding and require students to participate and attend course meetings.

Cultural Immersion

The Paris Open Campus summer co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and field trips are meant to support learning goals of the program by providing you with a number of different opportunities to become exposed to a variety of aspects of the Parisian and French cultures. Overall, the different activities and excursions give you meaningful opportunities to identify and reflect on local values and traditions in one of the most emblematic urban centers in the world. Additionally, participation in different program organized activities and trips allow you to evaluate and compare some of the distinct elements of regional diversity within France and appreciate the complexity of French society in a reflective manner.
