Program Description:
Irish political culture is summarized as all politics is local. This travel course examines Irish political culture and contemporary political issues through interactions with Deputies in the Irish Parliament, Government officials, community leaders, and academics. The travel course will also explore the relationship between Ireland (the Republic of Ireland) and Northern Ireland especially the issues of the border, trade links, and the common travel area as affected by Brexit. The Brexit negotiations are preparing the way for Great Britain's exit from the European Union. The course travel itinerary includes Dublin, Galway, Belfast and the coast of County Antrim, and Edinburgh.
