The University
LSE was founded in 1895 and has grown to become one of the foremost social science universities in the world, ranked alongside Harvard, UC Berkeley and Stanford.
A specialist university with an international intake, LSE's reach extends from its central London campus to around the world.
  • The School has a cosmopolitan student body, with around 9,500 full time students from 140 countries
  • It has a staff of just over 3,000, with about 46 per cent drawn from countries outside the UK
  • Over 100 languages are spoken on LSE's campus
  • An influential network of over 160,000 LSE alumni spans the world, covering over 190 countries with more than 80 active alumni groups.
LSE Summer School offers over 80 three-week courses taught by LSE’s world-renowned faculty. All courses take place on our campus in the heart of Central London.
The LSE Summer School has the world's largest intake of international study abroad undergraduates compared with other summer schools across the globe.  Visiting students are often able to transfer credit from LSE's rigorously assessed summer courses towards degrees at their home institution.
The Summer School curriculum is drawn from across the university, with courses being offered in subjects as diverse as Accounting, Finance, Economics, International Relations, Law, and Business and Management.

Courses can be found here.

Student Life
As a student at LSE you will be studying in the heart of a multicultural city alongside students from across the world. Major cultural attractions such as theatreland, the West End, the Royal Opera House, the British Library and British Museum are right on your doorstep. Whether you are into art, architecture, dance, film, music, theatre, sport, shopping or even green spaces and the great outdoors, London really does have it all.
LSE Summer School students have the opportunity to book accommodation in LSE's Halls of Residence, where regular year students live whilst studying.  The types of room and facilities available vary depending on the Hall but all are within easy walking distance of campus.
It is only possible to apply for accommodation once a formal offer of a place at the Summer School has been made.
More information on accommodations including Residence Halls, Rates, and specific information can be found here.
The City
London is one of the most exciting and culturally diverse cities in the world. With impressive architecture, world-class galleries and museums and great food and nightlife, London remains one of the world's top tourist destinations, and is the European financial capital. Being a part of LSE Summer School will give you the opportunity to study and live centrally in one of the leading global cities in the world.
