The University
The Universidad Iberoamericana is a private, Jesuit institution founded in 1943. It has six campuses in the country and the one in Puebla is the youngest. It offers a wide-range of disciplines—Liberal Arts, Law, Economics, Business Administration, and more—with courses taught in the Spanish-language and focusing on Mexico and other Latin American countries. The University boasts the most comprehensive curriculum and offers special programs for international students, including service activities. Students have access to the university’s modern facilities, including library, sports facilities, and a computer service. Students will become a part of the Mexican community by being immersed the university system and by living with a family (optional).

The City of Puebla
In a broad, high valley about 60 miles southeast of Mexico City is a city known by many names over the years: City of Angels, City of Tiles, and Heroic City of Zaragoza. Today we know it as simply Puebla. Established by the Spanish in 1531 on the main route between the port of Veracruz and Mexico City, Puebla was the principal city of colonial Mexico. Puebla's appearance is the most European of all the colonial cities, because it was planned from the ground up by a Spanish city designer rather than being built within an existing Indian community. By 1539, Puebla had a university and was on its way to becoming well-known throughout Mexico for milling, textiles, exquisitely decorated pottery and tiles, and for the architectural beauty of its buildings. Although modern Puebla is highly industrialized, its historic downtown remains a Spanish-colonial treasure filled with elegant 17th and 18th century European architecture and art. When you add a temperate climate year-around, friendly and courteous residents (called poblanos) and delicious regional cuisine, Puebla becomes the ideal place to learn or improve Spanish.

Courses
Students are free to select courses from the entire regular catalog (only few courses are unavailable). The regular courses are in Spanish, but there are courses in the Study Abroad Program that are in English.

Housing
The Ibero Puebla has dormitories for students, (visit Villa Ibero to more information). There are other options for housing: renting an apartment for you, renting an apartment with roommates, or renting a room from a family. Once you send in your application to the International Office in Ibero Puebla, we will send you an informational packet that addresses issues such as housing, academic dates, introduction into the city, etc. If you choose to rent an apartment, the packet, as well as the International Office at Ibero Puebla, can help direct you to recommended apartments. Also if you desire a roommate(s), our Office can provide you with contact information of other students who are looking for roommates. If you choose to rent a room with a family, you would live with a host family selected by the International Office. Selected families are located in the city and students are placed in double-occupancies with another international student or single-occupancies.
 Linen and towels are provided, but laundry and meals are optional. You may make arrangements with your host family (at an additional cost) to have these services provided. The family you stay with could meet you at the Airport in Puebla or at the Bus Station, if you email them your arrival information at least one week in advance.
